2024 C1st Scholarship Recipients

Community 1st Credit Union’s 2024 scholarship program has announced $50,000 will be awarded to 24 area high school seniors this summer for the 2024-2025 academic school year. C1st has a long tradition of supporting local communities and education through its scholarship program for both traditional and non-traditional students. In the last decade, C1st has awarded over $450,000 in scholarships to local student members.
This year, it was with great pleasure to announce the new Rex Stewart Memorial Agriculture Scholarship in honor of the late Rex Stewart. Rex served on our board of directors for nearly 40 years before passing. His passion for Agriculture and every single one of our C1st communities was unwavering. He was a strong credit union advocate and completely devoted to our mission. We were excited to award two students pursuing Agriculture this year in his name. Two $2,000 scholarships were awarded on behalf of Rex Stewart, in addition to those, the C1st Scholarship program includes one $4,000 scholarship, which goes to a child of a C1st employee, and 21 additional $2,000 awards going to students at each C1st branch location looking to seek an undergraduate degree.
The C1st $2,000 scholarship given by each branch winners include Trell Amoss, current high school senior, a C1st Albia member; Isabelle Carnahan, current high school senior, a C1st Ottumwa-Richmond member; Olivia Cunningham, a high school senior, a C1st Pella member; Sarah Eubanks, a current undergraduate, a C1st Washington member; Brennan Hayes, a high school senior, a C1st Creston member; Ava Hilton, current undergraduate, a C1st Indianola member; and Samantha Khamphilanouvong, current high school senior, a C1st Ottumwa-JBS member.
Additional $2,000 scholarship winners are Kiera Klum, a current high school senior, a C1st Centerville member; Kylie Malloy, a current undergraduate, a C1st Ottumwa-Pennsylvania member; Addie McGee, a current high school senior, a C1st Chariton member; Isabelle Meador, a current undergraduate, a C1st Mt. Pleasant member; Karston Nebel, a current high school senior, a C1st Bloomfield member; Emma Perreault, a current undergraduate, a C1st Cedar Rapids member; and Faith Roozeboom, a current high school senior, a C1st Knoxville member; and Cecelia Shaw, a current high school senior, a C1st Fairfield member.
Also gaining a $2,000 C1st scholarship are Brielle Sherman, a high school senior, a C1st Grinnell member; Payton Snyder, a current undergraduate, a C1st Oskaloosa member; Hannah Stearns, a current high school senior, a C1st Shenandoah member; Eva Steffensen, a current high school senior, a C1st Atlantic member; Chloe Timmons, a current undergraduate, a C1st Osceola member; and Skyllar Welch, a current high school senior, a C1st Ottumwa-Venture member.
The 2024 C1st Child of an Employee Scholarship for $4,000 is awarded to Tristen Wendling, currently enrolled at the University of Iowa and a C1st Washington Branch member.
Two Rex Stewart Memorial Agriculture Scholarship’s of $2,000 each were given to Sam Hash, a current undergraduate studying Agriculture Business, enrolled in Northwest Missouri State University and Trenton Major, a current undergraduate also studying Agriculture Business, enrolled in Iowa State University.
